Speaking at this years Medtronic Conference

It's not often as a patient that you get to publically thank the people behind the scenes.  So when the team at Medtronic (the medical devices company behind the neurotransmitter planted in my brain) invited me to speak, at their Annual Conference, in Sydney, I accepted.  Little did I appreciate the experience that Kate and I were about to embark on.

We flew into Sydney on Friday evening stayed in the heart of Sydney (amazing room service dinner) and had a very relaxing evening morning.  I was asked some questions on camera and then we had a light lunch.  We then met the other two "patients" telling their stories.  They were incredibly warm and generous and had amazing journeys with diabetes (Insulin Pump) and heart disease (pacemaker) who's lives had been transformed by this technology.

In front of 900 people my brief was to "tell my story" and I was given 10-15 minutes to elaborate, followed up with an "interview with Andrew O'Keffe. (of "DEAL or NO DEAL" fame) and Kate.

My wife was amazing and "stole the show" :-)
